July 27th was Scott’s 29th Birthday. With a helper in the house (Rebecca) I decided this was a good year to plan a surprise party. Scott thought we only made plans with Craig and Cherise to come over for a BBQ dinner. However when Scott got home I handed him a bunch of balloons with instructions to go get ready for a bike ride. To get him out of the house, I sent Scott on a treasure hunt for his birthday presents. In the meantime, all of our friends from the neighborhood showed up ready for a BBQ party in the backyard. Scott’s final clue on the treasure hunt told him to look for his last present in the back yard. When he opened the gate we were all waiting and yelled, SURPRISE!!

I didn't realize everyone was looking

She loved it!!
Scott was as surprised as he could be, with a 4 year old trying to keep a secret. Samantha knew not to tell him about the party, but she didn’t think that included telling him about all of her friend that were coming over. Jacob played his part in tipping Scott off too; as soon as Scott walked in the door from work Jacob had showed him where the cupcakes were hidding.

Here is Scott opening his presents. And from the next picture you can tell why Samantha was excited to tell Scott about all the friends she was having come over.

If you look closely it seems everyone is having fun but Samantha and Jacob they were getting squished in the middle.

What was left of the party at dusk: Scott and Jacob, Samantha, Craig and Carrie, Sarah and Sadie Cook, Cherise, Jonathan, Kevin and Candace Ball
Everything turned out great; we had plenty of food and a special low-carb cheesecake and ice-cream for Scott. We ended the party with a round of fireworks; unfortunately by then everyone was gone except for Craig and Cherise.
