HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Not sure what is wrong with the number 10, but Samantha decided a few months ago that she hated being 10 and she couldn't wait to be 11.

We had Cinnamon Muffins for breakfast, I packed her a lunch and showed up on time this year. (I have a bad track record) I remembered the egg salad sandwich and chips but missed the detail that she wanted string cheese. For dinner she wanted a nice roast dinner complete wuth homemade mashed potatoes.

This wasn't her party year, but she planned her own anyway. She had her 2 best friends over and had assigned them each a treat to bring for a picnic. My assignment was mini cup cakes. So in addition to the cake, I made a bunch of mini cup cakes too. I will admit that there wasn't any other work on my part. The girls played together, opened presents when I wasn't looking (she was suppose to remind them that they didn't need to bring any) and even had the picnic while I was upstairs wrapping for our family party later. She did get upset at one point the the boys were interfering, but other than that he party ran smoothly.

The cake was designed by Samantha, to signifiy a game that she and her friends have made up. Cas-ka-may!

Matthew and Joshua

She really is growing up, she mostly wanted and got clothes for her birthday. Her surprise gift was a new set of rollerblades.

When we were eating cake and ice-cream she was rolling through the house and had a couple of brothers copying her with sets of roller blades that were too big. At one point I was looking at Joshua and I blinked but when I opened my eyes he had disappeared. He had fallen to the ground out of sight because of the couch.
